Electronic Companies that you should be familiar with....

In this post I shall be talking about IC based companies and not about TV or Mobile Phone manufacturers, as you are already familiar with those.



  •   Analog Devices: This is an American Multinational company, which specializes in Digital Signal  Processing (DSP) ICs, MEMS Sensors,RF ICs, Analog Amplifier ICs etc.
              They are used in the field of : Industrial Automation,Aerospace and Defense,   Automotives , Health care and Consumer Electronics.
  • ST MicroElectronics: This is a French-Italian Multinational Semiconductor company, with their HQ located in Switzerland.Similar to Analog Devices, they to manufacture DSP ICs,MEMS ICs, MCUs,Imaging ICs and Modules etc. Apart from these, they also deal with Power Electronic components such as IGBTs, SCRs etc.
                  They are used in the field of : Automotive, Aerospace,Consumer electronics.
                  Speaking of Consumer electronics, you would probably find their products inside your smartphones in the form of motion sensors.
 STMicroelectronics


Wolfson Microelectronics: This is a UK Multinational company which deals with ICs, which are mainly used for Digital Signal Processing. They are highly famous for their Audio DACs and CODECs. You can find their products in top of the line handsets (especially Samsung Galaxy Phones).They have also partnered with Elliptic Labs to work with Ultrasonic Touchless  Gestures for phones.

Broadcom: If you are even slightly familiar with this company you would probably know their prime area of work is. The first thing that comes to mind when I describe this company is "Wireless Connectivity". Yes, they are very famous for their wireless routers and adapters. Apart from this, they make processors for some Mid-Range priced smartphones,NFC,Bluetooth products, Ethernet controllers and adapters as well.
